Take a pair of your ballet flats or other shoes and give them a makeover with some paint!
I think regular paint would probably crack and flake off if your shoes are flexible, so for ballet flats I would use shoe polish or dye instead of paint.
And I'd probably spray some weather protector over the whole thing after it was done.
